For 2027 entry, BEng Computing G400 requires the Test of Mathematics for University Admission, usually called TMUA. The test provider is University Admissions Tests UK, delivered through Pearson Professional Test Centres. The UAT-UK course list records required modules as N/A for BEng Computing G400.
Imperial applicants may choose either the 12–16 October 2026 sitting or the 4–8 January 2027 sitting, but each candidate may sit only once per admissions cycle. October booking opens on 20 July 2026 at 15:00 UK time and closes on 28 September 2026 at 18:00 UK time. January booking opens on 26 October 2026 at 15:00 UK time and closes on 21 December 2026 at 18:00 UK time.
The test matters because it gives Imperial another way to compare applicants taking different qualifications. In reality, you should not treat TMUA as an add-on after the personal statement. Preparation should focus on mathematical argument, time pressure and clear problem solving rather than trying to memorise computing facts.
For international applicants, TMUA is one of the most portable pieces of evidence in the file. Candidates in China, Hong Kong and Macau should note that UAT-UK applies restricted TMUA sitting dates in those regions. No official TMUA cut-off or weighting was verified.
